These illustrations are for a Community garden and a couple of personal projects.
Some of these images are for sale through Etcetera Sweden and are inspired not only by children's books, illustrations and comics, but by the big dirty city that I live in and the dream of trees in the dark.
This is a series of illustrations for Vox Liminis and their Distant Voices project. Songs all written by people who have spent time either in prison or working with prisoners, and co- written with some of Scotland's finest songwriters.
Fleeing into the Unknown (ODI, Huffington Post)
Abike (the Guardian, the Observer)
This is part of a bigger comics- project commissioned by the Guardian, and the Observer. Together with Positive Negatives, we told a story based on a woman's real experience of trafficking and sexual abuse. It was a heart breaking project, but one I am so proud to have been part of.
Black and White Book
These are images depicting a summer in Sweden and are used as chapter illustrations for a novel about a road trip through Scandinavia. The images are in black and white and show the nordic landscape through an graphic lens. The book takes us through forests with lakes, an old church and to the Swedish mountains.
Sven and Bobsy
I have created a couple of characters that I really love and who are popping up in different stories and comics. Sven and Bobsy are best friends and they love to hang out, argue and go on adventures together. The illustrations are inspired by country life in Sweden. Sven and Bobsy build airplanes, set up garage sales, get lost while picking mushrooms in the forest and invite anyone who is alone to spend Christmas with them. They are funny and happy and sad and inventive. Like children.
The life of Children
Black and white children's illustrations. Kids love baking gingerbread and perhaps eating quite a few of them. Life can be magical even when you sleep in an old chest of drawers or have to share the bath tub with a lot of siblings. These images serve as chapter illustrations and artful comics about the life of children.
Alla dör (Everybody dies)
This is a sample from the children's book Alla dör (Everybody dies) out on Olika Publishing on the 2nd of May 2015. The story is written by Jesper Lundqvist. The illustrations are made by using watercolours and ink. They show a diverse group of children, funny, furry animals, grief struck adults and all kinds of creatures at the end of their life. The book is for 3-6 years olds and the images serve to start a conversation regarding life and death and how it is not such a bad thing that everything has to end.
